Healthy Living in Nevada
This following health section was developed to provide the residents of Nevada resources on healthy living. We are aware of the importance of being active and eating correctly. You will be able to find a variety of resources on this page that will help you stay active and healthy.
The rate of people who suffer from heart attacks in Nevada is about 5%. This is one of the highest rates in the entire country. Leading a physically active lifestyle can go a long way in the prevention of heart attacks and other cardiovascular-related issues. The resources below describe ways that the residents of Nevada can be more active.
It is often difficult to carve out 20–30 minutes of workout time during the day. There are some ways, however, that you can increase your physical activity by changing some of your daily habits.
Ride a bicycle to work instead of driving your car.
Get off of the bus one stop early and walk the rest of the way to your destination.
Wash your own car at home by hand instead of taking it to the car wash.
Do some sit-ups during the commercials of a TV series.
Take a 5-minute break while walking every hour at work.
Nevada is full of great outdoor activities and blusters many beautiful parks. Mountain biking and rock climbing are particularly popular in Nevada but you can also find less strenuous activities like hiking. Here is a site to help you begin your Nevada outdoor adventure. https://travelnevada.com/outdoor-recreation/recreation-in-the-silver-state/
As our Nevada ACLS recertification customers know, healthy eating is just as important as physical exercise in maintaining a healthy heart. Here are some ways that you can immediately improve your eating habits.
Chop fresh fruits and vegetables at the beginning of the week and eat it for snacks.
Drink 1% and skim milk.
Eat at least 1 egg every day.

Highschool girls save a man's life
Sydney Radke and Addie Buck were walking around 1300 block of West 15th Street when they noticed an unresponsive man. After checking for his pulse and noticing a sudden drop of heat, they began doing CPR. They continued doing chest compressions and rescue breathings until Police officers Dan Tollefson and Craig Nowlan arrived to the scene and used their AED until the ambulance arrived to take the bystander to a medical center.
