Staying healthy in Alaska

Downhill skiing/Cross country skiing

If you’re planning to visit Alaska, you must remember to give downhill skiing or cross country skiing a try before going home. They are very popular activities and sports in the State, especially on December when most mountain tops are covered in snow. There are many skiing destinations in Alaska and some more adventurous individuals go to more isolated destinations to ski. Some might turn down the idea of participating in activities like these during the cold weather but taking part in some fun in such weather does have its health benefits. Cross country skiing is the best sports to burn calories and have your muscles strengthened. Downhill skiing is less intense than cross country skiing but it also works to strengthen and tone your muscles. Both activities improve flexibility, balance, and agility.
