About Wyoming

Wyoming was the home to the first woman governor and has the lowest population in the country. The state capital of Wyoming is Cheyenne and the land that is now known as Wyoming originally came from the French as part of the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. The first permanent trading post in the state was set up in 1834. It is called Fort Laramie and was set up during the pioneering of the Oregon Trail.

While all of this rich American history does impact the type of attractions that visitors want to see when they visit this state, they also come to enjoy the oldest national park in existence, the Yellowstone National Park. This massive park is home to many attractions, including natural hot springs and the mud volcanoes which are both considered among the great wonders of the world.

The beautiful nature and sights of wildlife up close are some of the things that Yellowstone National park is famous for. Seeing bear, antelope, buffalo and elk in the Yellowstone Park is very common and presents people with an experience that they cannot achieve anywhere else.

Just south of Yellowstone Park is the Grand Teton National park, where the breathtaking Snake River crosses through. There is a special road that connects the two parks called John D. Rockerfeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway that was developed specifically to make traveling between much easier on tourists.

Wyoming remains one of the most important travel destinations with in the U.S. Wyoming is a beautiful part of the northwestern United States. The rolling hills and beautiful mountains make Wyoming all that it is today.
