About Virginia
The State of Virginia is a very historic state. As the home of eight past U.S. presidents, it is now known as the "Mother of Presidents". With Richmond as the capital city, it is a southern state located on the eastern U.S. border. It is surrounded by Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina. Shenandoah National Park is the best place to watch wildlife in Virginia, since close to 40% of the park is designated to wildlife and is protected against hunting and poaching.
