About Iowa

Located in central U.S. with Minnesota to the north, South Dakota and Nebraska to the west, Missouri to the south, and Illinois and Wisconsin to the east, Iowa ratified the U.S. constitution in 1846 to officially become a state. The history of this land is rich as it was originally inhabited by Native American Indians who were eventually forced to give land over Pioneer settlers pushing west in search of gold, freedom, and a life worth living.

The most popular tourist attraction is the Bridges of Madison County, which are actually five covered bridges with great historical relevance to the state. They are spread out in different locations so visitors often come with plans to see all that the county has to offer, hitting all of the bridges before the end of their trip.

Yet, what attracts most visitors to this state is the beautiful landscape that offers a lot of outdoor amusement suited for families, individuals and couples, or even groups of outdoor enthusiasts.
