On this page, you will find some great tips and suggestions to staying active and healthy in the state of Iowa.

Active Living

In the state of Iowa, about 4% of the residents suffer from heart disease. Although not every heart disease case is preventable, you can go a long way in lowering your chances by leading a physically active lifestyle. Experts recommend about 20-30 minutes of daily physical activity.

Here are some good activities in the state of Iowa that will help you become more active.

Daily Routine Change

A great way to increase your daily physical activity is to change some of your small daily habits.

  • Bicycle to work a few times a week instead of driving if you live close enough.
  • Take the bus – studies show that bus riders burn more calories!
  • Park far away from the front door of your office.
  • Take stairs instead of the escalator or elevator.
