About Arkansas

Arkansas officially became a state in 1836. The capital city is Little Rock and it is located right on the northeast tip of Texas, surrounded on all sides by Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana. It is essentially a landlocked state that does not offer the typical tourist amusements that most vacationers are after.

Visitors who are more adventurous can go camping in the wilds at the Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge in Crossett. Here, they can rough it while camping in tents or RVs and enjoy outdoor amusements such as hiking and hunting.

Visitors who love Arkansas are those who don't want to deal with crowds of people or those who just want something a little different and a little more relaxing than the typical vacation hot spots can offer. The state also attracts those on a budget as it can be cheaper than many other states with popular attractions.
